The First Movers Coalition (FMC), established at COP26, is a collaboration between the World Economic Forum and US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, John Kerry. Its mission is to decarbonize heavy-emitting sectors by leveraging private sector demand for decarbonization technology. With 96 members and 120 commitments, the FMC envisions a $16 billion annual demand for emerging climate technologies by 2030, resulting in 31 million tonnes CO2e in annual emissions reductions. Aker BioMarine, a coalition member, commits to powering at least 5% of its deep-sea shipping with zero-emission fuels by 2030, utilizing compliant zero-emission fuel ships.
