Aker BioMarine recently won Biotechnology Innovator of the Year (Most Innovative Krill-Harvesting Company 2020) in the Business Excellence Awards program, hosted by Acquisition International, a news site featuring all the latest news from the world of modern business. The Business Excellence Awards honors businesses and enterprises from across the globe that have excelled in their business sectors.
Aker BioMarine was chosen based on the company’s excellence and commitment in the biotechnology sector. Focusing on the company’s mission to help improve human and planetary health, the award submission highlighted all of the innovative programs we have created and executed in order to help steer our company’s main pillars-the prevention of lifestyle diseases, better resource utilization, science awareness and Antarctic ecosystem research.
In order to help Aker BioMarine stand out among other biotech companies, it was imperative to showcase the company’s unparalleled sustainability initiatives as well as its ongoing investment in technology. Furthermore, it was important to point out that with a growing population, it has never been more important to make healthy food and nutrients available, highlighting krill as part of the solution.
“We are ecstatic to be recognized as Biotechnology Innovator of the Year by Acquisition International,” said Matts Johansen, CEO at Aker BioMarine. “There is no question that we are a company that is extremely focused on making the planet a better place, both on the human side as well as on the planetary side.”
“At Aker BioMarine, we have a solid foundation in science and technology and are continually expanding our project pipeline to help drive innovation and growth,” added Shauna McNeill, EVP Innovation at Aker BioMarine.
