Aker BioMarine to share its sustainability knowledge and experience
Aker BioMarine CEO Matts Johansen will take on the role as head of the initiative’s steering committee, which will report to Aker ASA CEO Øyvind Eriksen and Innovation Norway CEO Håkon Haugli. Aker BioMarine has emerged as a sustainability leader in the aquaculture industry and has made bold moves to reach net zero in its operations, prioritizing reduced emissions and ocean health in all its activities.
“I believe that the knowledge, experience and technological know-how of Aker BioMarine and the other companies in the Aker Group are essential to this collaboration and to achieving our goal of accelerating the green transition across industrial Norway,” says Matts Johansen.
“We are ready to jump into the next phase of transformation in this country, and I believe that Norway can be a global leader in going green across even the most hard-to-abate industries. It’s time for us to lead by example,” he adds.
All of Norway exports
The agreement between Aker ASA and Innovation Norway is an important part of achieving Norway’s political objectives to increase exports from the country, a target that coincides with Innovation Norway’s own ambitions. Innovation Norway plans to extend collaboration opportunities to other companies and sectors across Norway, to stimulate the green transition across all parts of society.
