Aker BioMarine announced today that they have reached an agreement for QRILL PAWS, the international dog mushing championship, for distribution to worldwide media broadcasters including the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), for the first season 2020.
QRILL PAWS, owned by Aker BioMarine, was created to promote the sport of long-distance dog mushing and to capture the world-class dog care that the sport is famous for. The QRILL PAWS series is set to deliver a daily highlight show to broadcasters and news agencies, starting with the first race this coming Sunday, 26. January, in Duluth, US. The John Beargrease is the first event in a series of a total of four legendary dog mushing races.
This is the first time the sport of dog mushing has entered a strategic TV distribution globally. QRILL PAWS will be available in over 100 countries by the world’s leading news agencies, guaranteeing a broad coverage of these spectacular races all over the world.
”Aker BioMarine aims to bring the excitement, joy and extreme performance from the most exotic arctic dog mushing races to a worldwide audience. The aim is to help the sport and the mushing community to grow and strengthen the race organizations, as well as showcase the world class dog care that the sport is famous for,” says Matts Johansen, CEO Aker BioMarine. Johansen is undertaking the intensive training that the sport requires, as he will actually participate in the “Femundløpet” race in 2020. He already has “Mush Synnfjell 2019 and 2020” on his resume.
Each race will also be broadcasted live throughout the race, on the QRILL PAWS YouTube channel, open for all to watch.
The French digital company, Georacing will deliver a unique and innovative GPS tracking, where you will see the Mushers live in 3D, rank your favourite mushers, view timing information at checkpoints, race speed, distance to finish, resting time and more. Factors that will make the digital visualization exciting to follow and watch.
The first season of the World Series consists of four legendary and historic dog races across the globe, ultimately determining the world’s best dog mushers. The races are unique and great sporting events separately, and by bringing them together in an international championship we believe the sport can reach a totally new level of interest.
