The Norwegian Board Association is extending its collaboration with Aker BioMarine and the VI Foundation. Following a period of close and targeted cooperation, elite sport, health, and social responsibility are now brought together in a holistic and long-term partnership.

“Entering into a partnership is always significant, but there is something special about renewing one. It is a clear mark of quality that the work we have done together has created value for all parties. That Aker BioMarine and the VI Foundation choose to continue their collaboration with the Norwegian Board Association isa strong vote of confidence. The renewal provides us with a long-term foundation and the flexibility to further develop both the partnership and board sports,” says Bijora Sardarian, Secretary General of the Norwegian Board Association.

Over the past two years, national team athletes in snowboarding, skateboarding, and surfing have had access to Superba Krill as part of their daily routines. Experiences from this period demonstrate how a systematic focus on health and recovery can help keep athletes healthy through demanding seasons, support performance, and enable optimal recovery in high-impact sports.

“Board sports place extreme demands on both the body and the mind, and we clearly see the value of working long-term and holistically with athlete health together with strong partners. With three snowboarders now qualified for the Olympic Games, it is especially important to build on what actually works,” says Thomas Harstad, Director of Marketing and Organization at the Norwegian Board Association.

The renewed agreement also has a strong societal dimension. Alongside the focus on performance and national teams, the Norwegian Board Association and the VI Foundation will further develop initiatives that promote equal opportunities and inclusion — values that are deeply rooted in board sports culture, from grassroots to elite level.

“Sport is an important arena for mastery and inclusion. Youth sports create social belonging, develop movement skills, and provide experiences that last a lifetime. For those who want to see how far they can go, elite sport offers opportunities to test personal limits. The VI Foundation believes that both levels create arenas for people with disabilities. Through one sport, equal opportunities are created,” says Bjørnar Erikstad.

For Aker BioMarine, the partnership is about long-term impact — both for the athletes and for sport as a social platform.

“This partnership goes beyond financial support by contributing science-backed knowledge, nutritional products which support active athletes, and sustainable values to create real, long-term impact. We are proud and motivated to further extend the partnership and support these incredible athletes on their journey towards the world’s biggest sporting stage,” said Simon Seward, CEO of Aker BioMarine Human Health Ingredients.

At a broader level, the partnership is also about a shared mindset, says AkerBioMarine Group CEO Matts Johansen:

“This partnership is also aboutculture and mindset. Board sports are about full commitment, resilience anddoing the work over time. Norway having four snowboard athletes qualified for the Olympic Games is no coincidence. It reflects a mentality that inspires usand shapes how we work at Aker BioMarine.”

The agreement has a long-term perspective and will be activated through national team initiatives, joint communications, and socially oriented projects. Together, the partners will continue to develop a collaboration that combines elite performance with a clear sense of social responsibility, providingathletes with the best possible conditions — both on and off the competitive stage.
