Learn more about the newly launched Omega-3 Index Project at Engredea/Natural Products Expo West

March 2, 2017, Oslo, Norway: Omega-3 deficiency is a global issue, putting people at higher risk of chronic disease, and education is essential in eliciting positive change. To that end, Aker BioMarine is officially rolling out a new platform called The Omega-3 Index Project™ to help bring more awareness to omega-3 EPA/DHA insufficiency, which affects most consumers worldwide. After a successful launch in Australia, the Aker BioMarine team is making waves in the U.S. market and is excited to share this Project with Engredea/Natural Products Expo West attendees. All are invited to visit Aker BioMarine’s booth (#775) to learn more about The Omega-3 Index Project and get their levels tested onsite with Dr. Bill Harris, an internationally recognized omega-3 expert and co-inventor of the Omega-3 Index Test.

Skjermbilde 2017-04-13 kl. 07.35.49.pngCreated in collaboration with Dr. Harris, The Omega-3 Index Project provides tools that will help consumers and health practitioners alike, identify, correct and maintain healthy levels of omega-3s EPA/DHA. The cornerstone of the Project is the Omega-3 Index Test, which is a simple nutritional tool that measures the amount of EPA and DHA in red blood cells. “This project is unlike any other initiative in the omega-3 industry. We are creating awareness of omega-3 deficiency, which consumers must acknowledge and act on in order to create positive change,” said Dr. Harris. “In the near future, I believe this tool will be equally important to a cholesterol test. The difference is the approach to correcting a negative Omega-3 Index score (i.e., low EPA/DHA level) is simply to consume more of the right omega-3s, like EPA and DHA. The Omega-3 Index Project will bring value to the industry in many ways and this is just the beginning.”
